Introduction to Osteothai
General Description
Introduction to Osteothai
Osteothai is a meeting place — where the grounding and dynamic rhythm of Thai Massage meets the refined sensitivity of Osteopathy.
It is an invitation to move beyond technique and enter a deeper conversation with the body, one guided by presence, rhythm, and the intelligence of touch.
This four-part Introduction to Osteothai focuses on a specific theme, gradually weaving together a holistic understanding of body mechanics, energetic flow, and mindful touch.
Through guided practice, demonstrations, and partner exchanges, you will learn to listen with your hands, sense the body’s subtle rhythms, and support natural self-regulation and vitality.
1. Osteothai for the Joints – The Dance of Mobility and Space
We begin by exploring the architecture of movement.
This segment focuses on freeing the joints and restoring balance throughout the body. You will learn gentle mobilizations, rhythmic stretches, and stabilizing techniques that awaken fluidity in the limbs and spine.
By refining sensitivity and precision, we will discover how to bring lightness and space back into every articulation — a dance of mobility and ease.
2. Osteothai for the Breathing – The Pulse of Life
Breathing is the body’s first rhythm — a wave that connects all tissues and emotions.
In this segment, we explore how to release the diaphragm, open the rib cage, and harmonize the motion of breath through the whole structure.
You will learn to feel how the body breathes on many levels and how to restore its natural, effortless rhythm.
3. Osteothai for the Internal Organs – The Inner Rivers
The internal organs hold much of our life energy — and often our tensions.
Here we turn inward, developing a gentle and respectful approach to visceral work.
Through specific touch, positioning, and rhythm, you will learn how to enhance the vitality of the organs, improve circulation and digestion.
4. Osteothai for the Lower Back – The Axis of Support
The lower back is both foundation and bridge — a meeting place of structure, motion, and emotion.
In this final segment, we bring together everything learned throughout the course to support the lumbar spine and pelvis with clarity and confidence.
We will explore techniques that release deep tension, restore spinal mobility, and reawaken the body’s sense of stability and ease.
Open to: Massage therapists, shiatsu practitioners, physiotherapists, yoga or movement teachers, and anyone with experience in bodywork.
